About Us

The Unified Voice of Civil Society in Belize

Since 2017, BNN has served as Belize's leading civil society organization — connecting NGOs, amplifying their voice in parliament, and driving governance reform.

Our Mission

“To promote good governance in Belize through advocacy, open and effective communication, and meaningful and active participation in reforming Belize's governance system.”

Our Vision

“To be the unified voice of NGOs in Belize and advocate good governance and sustainable human development.”

Our Core Values

These principles guide every program, policy position, and partnership we pursue.

Justice & Equity

Every Belizean — regardless of gender, ethnicity, or background — deserves dignity and opportunity.

Transparency

Open governance and accountability are the foundation of a healthy democracy.

Collaborative Strength

Uniting NGOs, activists, and communities amplifies our advocacy impact.

Environmental Stewardship

Protecting Belize's Barrier Reef and rainforests as inherent rights of the people.

Parliamentary Representation

The 13th Senator

A landmark achievement for civil society in Belize. BNN was founded alongside the creation of a 13th Senate position, giving NGOs direct parliamentary representation in the national legislature.

The NGO Senator serves as the voice of civil society in parliament — advocating for accountability, transparency, and the interests of all Belizeans through the legislative process.

A Board of Directors provides strategic oversight, establishes policies, and offers technical guidance to the NGO Senator.
